Vaughn went 2-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and four RBI in a 4-0 win over the Nationals during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Sonny Gray revealed an interesting tactic he's used during starts to reset after an inning doesn't go his way."I just came in here (the clubhouse) after the third, took all my clothes off, and got redressed with new cleats, socks, underwear, pants, belt, jersey, hat, and was just kind of like, 'Alright, you're a new guy. Start over here,'" Gray told reporters after the Cardinals beat the Chicago White Sox 3-0 on Friday, according to Bally Sports Midwest, noting that he had done it before.Gray breezed through the first two innings of Friday's game, allowing a double to White Sox first baseman Andrew Vaughn but no other hits.The 34-year-old struggled a bit in the third, allowing a single and a walk while throwing a wild pitch. Luckily, Nolan Arenado made a fine defensive play at third base, nabbing a 107-mph liner off the bat of Eloy Jim nez to end the inning without any runs crossing the plate.It was at that point Gray decided to make the costume change. The reset worked for the veteran hurler, who earned his fourth win of the season thanks to seven scoreless innings with three hits allowed, one walk, and six strikeouts. Gray admitted he hoped for a long half-inning from the Cardinals after coming into the clubhouse in the third."Just give me a baserunner here," Gray said as he laughed.
