Week 9 Pickups

Did you just lose Owen Daniels for the season? Finally drop Larry Johnson? With half the season over with, it may be more important than ever to make some lineup adjustments to get you into the playoffs. Here are the guys that I'm watching in my various leagues along with their availability in FleaFlicker, my favorite league platform.

Jamaal Charles, RB - KC (Availability: 68%): I'll admit that I drafted Larry Johnson thinking that there was a chance he could return to his former glory and I'd be so happy to have "seen it coming". Well, I was wrong and I'm looking forward to putting in my claim for the new featured back in Kansas City. I'm not ready to make him my every week starter, but I like him this week against the Jaguars, particularly after seeing Chris Johnson run wild against them.

Malcolm Floyd, WR - SD (Availability: 97%): He's averaging 1.83 receptions, 41.83 yards, and .17 TD's per game which is not exciting, but that's going to change. Chris Chambers was released on Monday giving Malcolm Floyd the chance of a lifetime. Floyd is now the starting WR opposite Vincent Jackson in an offense that can put up big numbers through the air. I'd temper my expectations this week against the beaten but still 2nd-ranked NY Giant's pass defense.

Ryan Moats, RB - HOU (Availability: 97%): It looks like Gary Kubiak will be rotating rising star Ryan Moats into the backfield after an incredible game last week in which he pulled off an improbable 126 yards rushing, 3 TD's, and added 2 receptions for 25 yards. Steve Slaton will remain the #1 back for now, but expect to see some of those touches given to Moats, particularly if Slaton continues to fumble the ball.

Dustin Keller, TE - NYJ (Availability: 34%): Favre liked him last year and many thought they'd see some solid production from him with Sanchez. We've been pretty disappointed until last week where he pulled off an 8 reception game for 76 yards and a score. He's on bye this week but he has a nice match-up in Week 10 against Jacksonville and playoff Week 15 against the 31st-ranked Atlanta pass defense. Keller's not going to consistently put up numbers like Owen Daniels, but if you need to replace Owens, Keller could make a nice fit.

LenDale White, RB - TEN (Availability: 51%): While White is certainly not the focus in the Titan's run game, he's available in more than half of all FleaFlicker leagues and has wonderful fantasy championship week match-ups. He'll face the 28th-ranked St. Louis defense in Week 14 and the 27th-ranked San Diego defense in Week 16.

Fred Davis, TE - WAS (Availability: 94%): Chris Cooley was the starting TE for so many fantasy owners that his weekly production will be missed. Fred Davis is now the man in Washington and proved his worth with a fantastic 8 reception, 78 yard, 1 TD game against Philadelphia. The Redskins face the 31st-ranked Atlanta pass defense this week.
