ALERT: The Saints have ruled out Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, and Derek Carr for Monday Night.

Horrible Bosses and the NFL Hall of Fame

Sunday, Aug 7, 2011 at 12:00 pm ET

A good boss can be the difference between a Super Bowl winning team and one unable to even catch the playoffs. A good boss can positively motivate and shape a team while a horrible boss can destroy one. I recently saw Horrible Bosses and while I have to admit that working for Jennifer Aniston would certainly have it's...ummm...perks...it's probably not the best working environment. Watching the 2011 Hall of Fame class get inducted however reminds me that each of those guys had positive influences on them. I guarantee that they each have had great bosses during their careers.

It's tough not to get emotional when watching Deion Sanders talk about his mother or Shannon Sharpe talk about his older brother Sterling during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. These were great speeches but none topped Ed Sabol whose video presentation was remarkable. Ed is the epitome of what a good boss should be and NFL Films is better off because of it. Ed's son Steve made the introduction and let the video do the talking. This video will be talked about for years to come.

Taking a look around the league at fantasy football news shows that more was going on besides just the Hall of Fame ceremony.

The Patriots defense just got better with the addition of Shaun Ellis. New England is always a playoff contender and 2011 will be no different. With their offseason moves, the Pats will be tough to beat.

Rotoworld is reporting that Tim Hightower is still having ball control issues at camp. Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has called Hightower a "3rd down back" and it's unlikely that he'll unseat Ryan Torain and Roy Helu for the starting gig. Hightower is unworthy of a bench spot on your fantasy team.

Michael Fabiano is reporting that Mark Ingram has looked impressive during training camp. All indications are that the Saints plan to utilize him extensively even with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles in the same backfield. Ingram is one of the sleepers that FFN expects to have a decent season and will be a popular pick for those in dynasty leagues.

Matt Forte is getting closer to threatening his team with sitting out the preseason games if not given a new contract. "I've considered not playing in the preseason games," Forte said. "But just to make that a fact, and say 'I'm not going to,' I haven't gotten there yet." Hopefully the Bears get Forte worked out as fantasy owners would like to see a happy Forte start the season. Forte has the opportunity to improve on his FFN draft ranking of 12th among NFL running backs.

If Forte and Chris Johnson can't get new contracts, they can always apply to be dental assistants. I hear Jennifer Aniston is hiring.

Ingram is your sleeper pick? Final Answer?

Maybe but that offense is so pass heavy that I just don't see it.

Yeah, I'm not saying I agree with Ingram as a sleeper. Maybe yes, maybe no, but go back to Super Bowl Saints and you'll remember Brees wasn't doing it all by himself that year. They had incredible balance that season and it made Brees job much, much easier.
