Week 6 Around the Net

Wednesday, Oct 10, 2012 at 12:00 pm ET

I obviously use more than just Fantasy Football Nerd to keep me updated and knowledgeable each week. Here are some of my favorite resources from around the Net for Week 6.

My first spot for sit/start decisions is the FFN Lineup Analyzer but I also like to check GoAheadScore.com. This is a great tool that will show the fantasy points spread, matchup facts, and projected stats for the compared players.

I only visit Pyromaniac.com when I have extra time because I can literally spend an hour or two here. The player caricatures on the site are perhaps the most creative thing I've ever seen in fantasy football. Check out their Week 6 podcast to hear their thoughts on the upcoming week.

Another great podcast can be found by my friends at FF Toolbox. Jeff and the staff at FF Toolbox have one of the best sites on the planet so be sure to head over to the FFToolbox.com website to get weekly projections, rankings, injury reports, and player news. Excellent analysis all around!

Looking for some waiver wire pickups for Week 6? Check out Pro Football Focus. Their comments on Alex Green are spot on.

Speaking of Alex Green, ESPN's Fantasy Focus discusses his fantasy relevance along with what we should make of Michael Vick this year.

I don't know how I'd make it through the week without the awesome player updates available at CBS Sports. I also enjoy reading the Week 6 Fantasy Trade Value Chart from my friend and past FFN Experts League member Dave Richard.

Bruno Boys has their Week 6 rankings up. I have always enjoyed reading their weekly analysis.

Smitty at Draft Calc has Week 6 projections available. He's always fearless with his projections (example: CJ Spiller ranked 7th this week) and has a solid track record of delivering.

Brad Pinkerton at Sporting News delivers great analysis on Week 6 pickups including guys like Alex Green, Robert Meachem, and Jeremy Kerley. I particularly enjoyed his analysis on Santana Moss - couldn't agree more.

Another site that is a must visit for me is FantasySharks.com. Great rankings and analysis every week. Check out their Interactive Stats App. Who would have thought that we'd find guys like Stevan Ridley, Alfred Morris, Trent Richardson, and Reggie Bush in the Top 10 among running backs outscoring guys like LeSean McCoy and MJD?

Speaking of Fantasy Sharks, I've had the pleasure of competing against Greg Kellogg for the past two seasons in the FFN Experts League powered by my friends at Fleaflicker.com. Greg is one of the industry's best talents and an inaugural member of the FSWA Hall of Fame class.

After five weeks, I find myself no worse than 4th place in the FFN Experts League, the Fleaflicker.com Experts League, FFN Users League I, and FFN Users League II. Great competition in every league!

Good luck in Week 6...unless you're playing against me of couse.

Hey, Joe. I'm in a quandry here. I have E. Manning flying out to the West Coast to play the 49'ers, with H. Nicks(also on my roster), as "questionable", going against one of the best passing defenses in the NFL.

I have Christian Ponder, going against the Redskins at Washington, with about the worst passing defences in the NFL.

What do you think?

Nerd CommentedOct 12, 2012 11:00 am

Ponder certainly has the better matchup but I'm still playing Manning.

onehumpor2 CommentedOct 13, 2012 11:00 am

Ouch I figgered that's what you'd say.

OK.

Question: I have Alex Green, Mikel LeShoure and LaRod Stephens-Howling. Who should I go with at the W/R position? I'm in a PPR league

Nerd CommentedOct 13, 2012 11:00 am

I like Mikel LeShoure among those options.

This is the most unnerving week yet everyone has different answers for this lineup and my gut instincts are only 50/50 this year ... HELP !

Nerd CommentedOct 13, 2012 11:00 am

1. Marshawn Lynch

2. Willis McGahee

3. Shonn Greene

Even though Greene finally has a nice matchup and could produce here, I think the safer play is the list above.

1. Julio Jones (could be a monster game)

2. Jordy Nelson

3. Brandon Lloyd

4. Stephen Hill

danlamour CommentedOct 13, 2012 11:00 am

yup i was going with lynch and mcgahee and julio jones for sure.... was wringing my hands over shonn greene or jordy nelson or stephen hill wondering who would have breakout game of those 3. out of the 7 i need 4... thank u much !!!

Nerd CommentedOct 14, 2012 11:00 am

I like Jordy Nelson over Shonn Greene. That doesn't mean that Greene couldn't rip off a big game, but the consistency and potential upside of Nelson is better. Good luck!

Nerd CommentedOct 14, 2012 11:00 am

Kicking myself over that last one as I watch Greene reach the endzone yet again.

Nerd CommentedOct 15, 2012 11:00 am

Spoke too soon. Jordy had a beautiful 9 for 121 yd, 3 TD performance. Excellent football!

danlamour CommentedOct 15, 2012 11:00 am
