Much has been made of Altuve potentially moving to left field if the Astros were to bring back Alex Bregman, as the expectation would be that Isaac Paredes would instead play second base if Bregman was brought back on board. The 34-year-old would add a little bit of fantasy value since he'd gain multi-position eligibility, although it'd be surprising if he wasn't a starting second baseman in most fantasy lineups. The Astros continue to believe bringing Bregman back is a long shot, but watching Altuve in the outfield could be interesting.
Manager Joe Espada sounded a bit more optimistic, but we'll see. Brown did make it clear that Bregman would play third if brought back. That would presumably shift Isaac Paredes to second and Jose Altuve to the outfield.
