NBC SportsGunnar Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run on Friday against the Rays.

In a game starved for offense, Henderson' blast accounted for the only earned run allowed by either side. He got the best of Shane Baz in his third at-bat when a 2-2 slider didn't quite make it to his back foot and he turned it around for a home run. Henderson cooled for a moment earlier this summer, but has ratcheted it back up with three homers in his last seven games.

NBC SportsShane Baz gave up just two hits and one earned run with three walks and five strikeouts across six innings in a loss against the Orioles on Friday.

Baz turned in a great start here. His only mistake was a two-strike slider to Gunnar Henderson that got too much of the plate and wound up in the seats. Otherwise, his command was excellent against an Orioles' lineup that featured eight left-handed hitters. Baz kept his fastball up and away and his curveball low and out of the zone to force 15 total swings-and-misses. Yet, it just doesn't look or feel the same for Baz as it did his first time around the league. His velocity dipped by nearly two ticks and struggled to put hitters away. He's scheduled to face the Phillies on the road in his next start.

NBC SportsShane Baz allowed two runs with five strikeouts over five innings in a win over the Padres on Saturday.

Baz surrendered a two-run homer to Jake Cronenworth to open the game, then settled in nicely to toss four more scoreless frames. He ended his day after five innings with five strikeouts in line for the win. The 25-year-old right-hander will take a 3.49 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 41/20 K/BB ratio across 49 innings into a start against the Twins in Tampa Bay on Thursday.
