The Reds optioned Marte to Triple-A Louisville on Monday.
The 23-year-old former top prospect entered the game as a defensive substitution in the sixth inning. He then made the most of his only plate appearance, crushing a leadoff triple off of Shaun Anderson in the ninth inning and trotting home on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Austin Wynns. Marte is expected to open the season at Triple-A Louisville, though he could wind up being a viable fantasy contributor if he somehow gets another opportunity at regular at-bats in the Reds' lineup.
