Doval had a rough season for the Giants in 2024, posting a 4.88 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and a 78/39 K/BB ratio across 59 innings. The once dominant closer was demoted to Triple-A Sacramento near the end of the summer and ultimately lost his closer's job to Ryan Walker. He has been a popular name in trade discussions this winter and could wind up needing a change of scenery. From a fantasy perspective, he has been a speculative pick in early drafts going outside the top 350 players overall.
