NBC SportsNationals placed 1B Andres Chaparro on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to March 24, with an oblique strain.

Chaparro isn't expected to miss a ton of time, but he's not ready for the start of the regular season after suffering a left oblique strain earlier this month. The 25-year-old first baseman should be ready to return by mid-to-late April.

NBC SportsAndres Chaparro has been diagnosed with a left oblique strain.

That means Chaparro won't be ready for the start of the season. The injury occurred during batting practice before Saturday's Grapefruit League contest, and he was scratched from the lineup. It may not be a long-term injury, but Chaparro won't be back until the middle of April at the earliest.
