Frelick was back in right field on Monday against the Rockies after missing a handful of games earlier this week with left calf soreness. The 24-year-old former top prospect is expected to open the regular season as the club's starting left fielder, which gives him some appeal in deeper mixed leagues.
Frelick (calf) will start in right field and bat cleanup in Monday's Cactus League game against the Rockies.
Frelick's absence was considered precautionary, with the injury being called "very minor." The 24-year-old should be an everyday option for the Brew Crew to open -- and likely end -- the 2025 campaign.
Lively walked two and struck out two on the afternoon. The big blow against him came on a two-run blast by Sal Frelick in the third inning. The 33-year-old hurler has been highly inconsistent this spring, posting a 3.55 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and a 9/5 K/BB ratio over 12 2/3 innings.
Frelick opened the scoring in the ballgame with a long two-run blast to right field off of right-hander Ben Lively in the third inning. He then chipped in an RBI single in the seventh inning that increased the Brewers' edge to 7-0. With his two-hit attack, Frelick is hitting a scalding .389 (14-for-36) with a pair of long balls, eight RBI and four stolen bases in what has been an extremely impressive spring.
