Hayden Birdsong

Hayden Birdsong capped a breakout 2024 season with 11 strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings, and now the San Francisco Giants pitcher has a lot to build on as he heads into 2025.

Donovan was the Cardinals' engine in this one. He homered in the third inning to break a 0-0 tie and then hit an RBI single in the fifth that started the domino effect to chase Giants' starter Hayden Birdsong. Donovan wound up with a fine season as a full-time starter with 14 home runs and a .278/.342/.417 slash line.

Hayden Birdsong struck out 11 in 4 1/3 innings but the San Francisco Giants didn't do anything offensively and finished the 2024 season with a loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.
