NBC SportsKirby Yates tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the White Sox to record his 24th save of the season.

Yates got the call to guard a two-run lead in the final frame and needed just 19 pitches (11 strikes) to end it. He struck out Lenyn Sosa and Dominic Fletcher to open the ninth inning before issuing a two-out walk to Miguel Vargas, which brought the potential tying run to the plate. The 37-year-old veteran stopper extinguished any hope for Chicago by getting rookie Brooks Baldwin to ground out to second base to end the contest.

NBC SportsWhite Sox recalled 3B Bryan Ramos from Triple-A Charlotte.

The 22-year-old Ramos isn't being recalled to sit around, so Lenyn Sosa might be reduced to battling Brooks Baldwin for playing time at second now. Ramos struggled in his first stint with the White Sox in May, hitting .196/.208/.239 in 48 plate appearances. He wasn't much better in Triple-A in June and July, but he had hit .291/.398/.557 for Charlotte this month. His six homers this month are two more than he had in 78 games between the majors and minors over the first four months. He's still probably not ready to be a quality regular in the majors, but the White Sox have nothing to lose.

NBC SportsJason Foley closed out the White Sox on Friday night, working a perfect ninth inning to protect a three-run lead.

Foley didn't waste any time in this one, as he needed just four pitches (four strikes) to get Lenyn Sosa on a fly ball to right, Brooks Baldwin on a fly ball to center and Nicky Lopez on a line drive to shortstop to end the ballgame. The 28-year-old hurler picked up his 17th save of the season for his efforts and appears to have re-established himself as manager A.J. Hinch's go-to option in the ninth inning.
