Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins exercised his $18 million option for 2025 on Friday rather than take a $4 million buyout and again become a free agent.

Hoskins exercised his $18 million player option for 2025 on Friday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

No surprise here. Hoskins was not going to get that kind of salary on the open market after hitting .214 with 26 homers and a .722 OPS in his first season with the Brewers. The 31-year-old will be the everyday first baseman for Milwaukee in 2025.
