Luke Williams

The Braves announced that infielder Luke Williams has been outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett. There wasn’t any previous indication that he had been removed from the 40-man roster, but he was apparently put on waivers recently and cleared. This drops the club’s 40-man count to 37. More to come.

The 28-year-old utilityman apparently passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as depth for the Braves at the Triple-A level. Williams hit just .152 (5-for-33) with a homer, three RBI and three stolen bases in Grapefruit League action.
