Mathurin, who sprained his left ankle, logged 27 minutes off the bench in Saturday's win over the Nets. If he's unable to play on Monday, more minutes will be available to Ben Sheppard, who only logged nine on Saturday. There would not be much to gain from streaming Sheppard in that spot, as starter Aaron Nesmith will be available.
The Pacers are without Tyrese Haliburton for a third straight game, and Rick Carlisle will use his third different lineup on Monday. Mathurin will receive the starting nod, with Ben Sheppard headed to the bench. Being allowed to start raises Mathurin's ceiling, making him a player worth rostering for Monday's 12-game slate.
Haliburton has missed the Pacers' last two games, with Jarace Walker and Ben Sheppard receiving an opportunity to fill in. Sheppard started Saturday's loss to the Hawks and will be headed to the bench if Haliburton is available.
With Tyrese Haliburton out of action, Sheppard will join Andrew Nembhard, Pascal Siakam, Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner in the starting five against Atlanta. The Belmont product has averaged 27.5 minutes across eight starts this season, but he's done nothing notable with those opportunities. Sheppard isn't worth streaming here.
Sheppard is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Hawks, Tony East of WTHR Channel 13 Indianapolis reports.
