A little "home cooking" is good for one's basketball game, based on Randle's performance against the Mavericks. The Dallas native finished Wednesday's win two assists shy of a triple-double while also shooting 60% from beyond the arc. While Minnesota's start to the season hasn't been what many expected, Randle has been a solid fantasy option in 8-cat formats, providing top-75 per-game value.
Randle was able to approach triple-double territory in this game, but he wasn't able to pair it with an efficient night. He shot the ball poorly and turned it over seven times, which was a new season-high. He has gone seven straight games without making at least 50% of his shot attempts. This line will play well in points leagues, and there were some redeeming qualities for category leagues. However, they've lost three in a row, and Randle will need to be better in Dallas on Wednesday to avoid that streak continuing.
Randle put up solid numbers in his first game against the Knicks since being traded in September, but it did not impact winning. The Timberwolves fell behind by a large margin, and Timberwolves coach Chris Finch decided to pull the plug late in the third quarter. Randle and his teammates will look to bounce back when they host the Warriors on Saturday.
The Knicks are without Josh Hart, who is not with the team for personal reasons. Tom Thibodeau has decided to go with a bigger lineup, starting Achiuwa due to a need to match up with Julius Randle. Achiuwa will have deep-league streaming value in this spot, as will reserve guard Miles McBride.
Alexander-Walker came off the bench and only played 24 minutes, but still managed to have the second-most shot attempts for Minnesota. The Timberwolves have plenty of other mouths to feed with Mike Conley, Julius Randle and Naz Reid. It takes a perfect storm for Alexander-Walker to outproduce all of them, making him difficult to count on in fantasy when the Timberwolves have an otherwise healthy roster.
