Nurkic has missed Phoenix's last two games and will also sit out Saturday's game against the Pistons. According to Budenholzer, the team will decide within the next day or two whether or not the 7-footer will rejoin the Suns during their current road trip. After Saturday, the Suns will play games against Cleveland (Monday) and Brooklyn (Wednesday) before returning home. Nurkic fell out of the rotation before the illness, so his availability does not impact fantasy basketball, especially since the Suns acquired Nick Richards from the Hornets.
The center position has provided plenty of issues for Phoenix this season, but they seem to have found their solution. They didn't have to give up much, as Okogie hasn't been a large part of their rotation. Recently, Mason Plumlee has been the starting center, with Oso Ighodaro filling out the backup minutes. Jusuf Nurkic has been out of the rotation entirely, and it wouldn't be shocking if he was moved before the trade deadline. Plumlee and Ighodaro haven't been great options, and the path for Richards to start at center is wide open. Assuming that happens, he should be considered a must-roster player in standard leagues.
Nurkic had already been ruled out for Sunday's game, but now it seems likely that he will remain away from the team when they head to Atlanta on Tuesday and possibly beyond that. However, Nurkic has been out of the rotation recently, so this won't impact fantasy basketball.
Nurkic has been out of the rotation altogether despite being healthy in the Suns' previous two games. Oso Ighodaro appears poised to back up Mason Plumee at center on Sunday.
Nurkic won't play Sunday against the Hornets due to an illness.
