Towns returned to the Knicks' lineup after sitting out Tuesday's win over the 76ers, recording his 54th double-double. That's 23 more than his tally in the prior two seasons combined, a testament to how being the lone big on the court has positively impacted KAT's fantasy value. However, he did not record any defensive stats on Wednesday and was responsible for seven turnovers. The good news for Towns managers is that neither of New York's final two opponents of Week 22, Atlanta and Phoenix, are as formidable in the frontcourt as the Cavaliers.
Towns (knee) is available and starting against the Cavaliers on Wednesday, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
Towns is back after sitting out Tuesday's win over the 76ers. He'll return to the starting lineup, joining Delon Wright, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart and OG Anunoby. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) unavailable, Precious Achiuwa will serve as Towns' backup.
KAT missed Tuesday's game against the 76ers but should be ready to give it a go on Wednesday. Towns will return to playing his typical spot in the starting lineup after Mitchell Robinson replaced him against Philly. However, Robinson will miss the second leg of New York's back-to-back, so Precious Achiuwa should fill out the reserve center minutes.
Robinson logged a double-double in the first leg of this back-to-back as a starter in place of Karl-Anthony Towns, who was sidelined with a knee injury. Precious Achiuwa will likely be called upon for some reserve center minutes behind KAT with Robinson still not ready to play both legs of back-to-backs.
