Nance Jr. is the kind of rock-solid reserve big man every team wishes they had, the Hawks will miss him.
Larry Nance Jr. injured his hand during their win over the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Nance Jr. sustained the injury on Saturday against the Heat, and a timeline for his recovery will be provided following surgery. In his absence, Dominick Barlow - who was recalled from the G League on Saturday - will presumably see more run behind Clint Capela at center. With Jalen Johnson and Onyeka Okongwu providing quality frontcourt minutes and production already, Barlow isn't a recommended add for fantasy managers.
Hawks forward Larry Nance Jr. will undergo surgery for a broken bone in his right hand.
After missing Atlanta's last five games with a knee issue, Okongwu was available to play in this game. It lined with their first of what will likely be many games without Larry Nance Jr. (hand), who has been filling out the backup center minutes in place of OO. Clint Capela logged 27 minutes in this game, and how the minutes are split between Okongwu and Capela moving forward will be worth keeping an eye on. Okongwu hasn't had a great season, but he played well in this one, which is hopefully a sign of things to come.
