Phoenix Suns duo Kevin Durant and Devin Booker combine to send Los Angeles Lakers tumbling to their first NBA defeat of the season.
Booker didn't shoot the ball well from the field, but 12 free-throw attempts will compensate. He's gotten off to a relatively slow start offensively, shooting 18-of-42 from the field through three games, but Book will be fine. He and the Suns begin a three-game Week 2 slate with the Lakers on Monday.
Beal appeared on the injury report before Friday's loss to the Lakers, but that was due to a sore right shoulder. His right elbow is the reason for this appearance, and it's unknown if Beal will be available for Phoenix's home opener. Royce O'Neale should figure more prominently in the rotation if Beal cannot play. Also, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant will shoulder even more of the scoring workload.
Beal is officially available after the Suns listed him as probable on the initial injury report. He'll take on his usual role within the rotation, starting alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. Fantasy managers with Beal rostered need to ensure he's in their active lineups.
Mann was most impactful as a defender, even if the stats (one steal, no blocks) don't bear that out. He was a defensive pest, taking on the challenge of defending Devin Booker for most of Wednesday's game. He fouled out during the fourth quarter, ending a solid night for the Clippers wing. Mann hasn't been much of a fantasy asset during his NBA career, but the indefinite absence of Kawhi Leonard makes him a player worth tracking during the first few weeks of the season.
