Beasley wasn't able to maintain his streak of 20-point games, but he was able to extend his streak of games with at least four 3-pointers to seven. His value in 9-cat leagues has come strictly from points and 3-pointers, though he has played a large enough role to contribute a little value in other categories. He has thoroughly outplayed Tim Hardaway Jr. lately, but it doesn't seem like J.B. Bickerstaff wants to swap their roles. However, Beasley has still played plenty of minutes, so managers should continue to ride the hot hand.
Tim Hardaway Jr. returned to the lineup after missing their last three games, which pushed Beasley back to the bench. However, that didn't put an end to his hot shooting run. Beasley has now scored at least 20 points in five straight games and in six of their last seven. He has hit at least four 3-pointer in six straight games. He was brought in this summer to help increase the spacing around Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey, and he has done his job tremendously. Whether he's starting or coming off the bench, Beasley should be a reliable source of triples moving forward.
Both guards were initially listed as probable and have now officially been cleared to play in this game. THJ is back after a three-game absence and should replace Malik Beasley in the starting unit.
Hardaway has missed Detroit's last three games, with Malik Beasley replacing him in the starting lineup. While THJ starting on Monday would not mean there are no restrictions, that declaration is an encouraging sign for managers who have him rostered. As for Beasley, his fantasy value will decrease if he comes off the bench.
No one has benefitted more from the Tim Hardaway Jr. injury than Beasley. Since moving into the starting lineup three games ago, Beasley has 72 points, 16 rebounds, and 18 3-pointers. That's an average of 24 points, 5.3 rebounds and six 3-pointers. Beasley doesn't get a lot of assists, but he's been on an absolute heater since THJ went down. Hardaway Jr. is close to returning, though, which could complicate matters for Beasley.
