The Warriors' Gary Payton II will be out at least a week because of a mild left calf strain, the team said Thursday. Steph Curry, meanwhile, won't play Friday vs. the Clippers as he continues to manage bilateral knee pain.
The Warriors' Gary Payton II will be out at least a week because of a mild left calf strain, the team said Thursday.
Already dealing with a left calf contusion, Payton suffered a mild strain of the same calf during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Lakers. He'll be re-evaluated in one week, meaning GPII will miss at least three games, beginning with Friday's game against the Clippers. His absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball, but it will free up added minutes for Moses Moody.
Anderson and Payton were considered questionable, with the former being added to the Warriors' injury report early Wednesday afternoon. They're good to go and will provide depth off the bench, but Anderson and Payton are unlikely to impact fantasy basketball.
Payton was held out of Monday's loss to the Pacers, robbing the Warriors of one of their best individual defenders. However, his availability does not impact fantasy basketball, as GP2 has been more critical to the Warriors than to fantasy managers.
