Towns fouled out of Monday's defeat, but his involvement in the offense was the talking point afterward. KAT only attempted eight shots on the night, a surprisingly low number for a player of his skill level. Jalen Brunson took the blame for that, saying he needed to be better about ensuring everyone was getting their opportunities. Getting Towns more shots on Wednesday won't be easy because of how good a defender Bam Adebayo is, but don't be surprised if the Knicks look to get KAT going early.
Bam hasn't gotten off to a great start to the season, but he was effective in this game. It wasn't a massive scoring outburst, but he shot efficiently and made a huge impact on the defensive end. Bam has never shot below 50% from the floor over the course of a season, so the expectation was always that it would regulate quickly. Managers may have been stressing about Adebayo's poor performance early on, but it's important to not overreact to a small sample size. We may not get six stocks in a game from him often, but he'll be much better than he was during their first two games.
Adebayo wasn't elite on Saturday, but his play was much-improved after struggling in Wednesday's loss to the Magic. A career 54.7% shooter from the field, shooting 6-of-17 from the field won't be the norm for Bam. Miami plays three games in Week 2, starting with the Pistons on Monday.
Both of Miami's stars struggled in Wednesday's season opener, with Adebayo and Jimmy Butler combining to score 12 points. In a shocking performance, the former did not score his first (and final) field goal of the night until the third quarter. Given the track record, fantasy managers must trust Adebayo will bounce back, possibly as soon as Saturday night in Charlotte.
Herro didn't have the best opening night but performed considerably better than most of his teammates. Injuries plagued him throughout the 2023-24 campaign, impacting Herro's ADP. He can provide reliable middle-round fantasy value, even with the Heat having Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Terry Rozier in their starting lineup.
