SGA only shot 7-of-19 from the field and missed both of his 3-point attempts, but made up for it by going 14-of-14 from the free throw line. He was +7 in 39 minutes in the 10-point victory. OKC got one of its players back Wednesday in Isaiah Hartenstein, but will continue to rely heavily on SGA without Chet Holmgren in the lineup. The Thunder are off for the rest of the week, but have four games in Week 6, starting with the Kings on Monday.
SGA continues to have big names. It's needed now more than ever as the Thunder are missing Chet Holmgren and others. Gilgeous-Alexander's 32 points and seven assists weren't enough to hold off the Spurs on Thursday even without Victor Wembanyama. Oklahoma City will continue to lean heavily on SGA in the early part of this season, which is good for his fantasy value. The Thunder take on the Trail Blazers Wednesday in the second night of a back-to-back.
Wallace is the lone change to the Thunder starting lineup. He's in for Isaiah Joe, who has been ruled out with a left calf contusion. Alex Caruso is also available and may pick up a few more minutes with Joe unavailable. Neither he nor Wallace is a must-roster player, although the latter offers a slightly higher ceiling as a starter.
Gilgeous-Alexander had 36 points (13-19 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 9-11 FT), two rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and two steals over 38 minutes during Sunday's 121-119 loss to the Mavericks.
SGA had no trouble scoring in this one. He got his 36 points on 19 shots and was 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Shai also had eight assists and was +8 in 36 minutes in the two-point loss. Without Chet Holmgren for at least two months, expect the Thunder to continue to lean on SGA heavily going forward. Oklahoma City only has two games in Week 5, but SGA is a must-start player in fantasy.
