Middleton did not play in the Bucks' most recent game, their win over the Thunder in Tuesday's Emirates NBA Cup final. The probable tag for Friday suggests he'll play against the Cavaliers, and fantasy managers should anticipate Middleton sitting out Saturday's matchup with the Wizards. AJ Green and Gary Trent Jr. may see their minutes decrease on Friday, but Saturday will be their opportunity to take on a more significant workload.
GTJ has been able to figure some things out recently, but his last two games during the NBA Cup were complete duds. Of course, the one game that doesn't count towards fantasy basketball is the one that he finds his shot again. Khris Middleton (illness) was sidelined for this game, but his return hasn't limited Trent Jr.'s role. Hopefully this is something that he can build off of moving forward, starting in Cleveland on Friday, which will be the first leg of a back-to-back for them. Regardless, Trent Jr. is by no means a must-roster player at this point.
Middleton was initially listed as probable for this game, but now the expectation is that he won't suit up for the championship game of the NBA Cup. Taurean Prince, Andre Jackson Jr., Gary Trent Jr. and AJ Green will all likely see a few extra minutes in this game with $500k on the line.
Prince exited early from their last game, which allowed Gary Trent Jr. to start the second half in his place. With Prince expected back, GTJ won't get the chance to start in this game.
Prince was dealing with an illness before Friday's game, but the Bucks cleared him to play after he went through his pregame routine. Part of the starting lineup, he logged nine minutes in the first half, missing his lone shot attempt and going scoreless with two rebounds, one assist, and one blocked shot. Gary Trent Jr. started the third quarter with Prince back in the locker room.
