Not included in the initial trade reports on Saturday, Beekman is headed to Brooklyn to help make the financials work. Undrafted out of Virginia, the rookie guard spent most of this season with the Warriors' G League affiliate. He's unlikely to impact fantasy basketball in Brooklyn, but there may be opportunities if the Nets go all-in on a tank.
Guard Reece Beekman and several draft picks were also flipped in the deal
The Golden State Warriors traded for veteran Brooklyn Nets guard Dennis Schr der and sent De'Anthony Melton to the East Coast.
With De'Anthony Melton out for the season, the Golden State Warriors made the logical move of pursuing someone who checks those same boxes in Dennis Schr der.
The Warriors need backcourt help, and Schroder fits the bill. He's been excellent this season, averaging 18.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.5 3-pointers per game. Schroder gives the Warriors another perimeter playmaker who can create for himself and others, an attribute that has been lacking. To acquire Schroder, the Warriors have sent De'Anthony Melton and three second-round picks to Brooklyn.
