Goga Bitadze has been the hot streaming option with Wendell Carter Jr. sidelined, but it was Wagner that stepped up in this game. He has now scored in double figures in six straight games, which lines up with WCJ's injury. Wagner has been able to pour in buckets consistently all season, but he whas stepped things up a bit recently. He isn't worth consideration in standard leagues, but his points, along with the limited production in other categories, make him worth a look in deeper leagues.
Carter has missed Orlando's last five games, and Friday will be number six. Goga Bitadze has been solid as WCJ's replacement in the starting lineup and should be streamed. Moritz Wagner will also have added fantasy value, but Bitadze is the player fantasy managers should target first.
Wagner was very efficient with 18 points on seven shots. He made 2-of-4 attempts from behind the 3-point line and knocked down all six of his free throws. Wagner was +30 in 24 minutes off the bench in the 25-point Magic victory. He continues to see additional minutes with Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) sidelined.
This will be a fourth straight absence for Orlando's center, and it's unclear how much longer he'll be sidelined. Goga Bitadze will continue to start in his place, with Moritz Wagner filling out the backup center minutes. Bitadze should be streamed until Carter Jr. returns.
As he's shown multiple times since arriving in Orlando, Wagner doesn't need much time to make an impact. Moritz put up 17 points in 18 minutes on Friday, doing so incredibly efficiently. While Goga Bitadze is the preferred streaming target with Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) sidelined, Wagner isn't a bad consolation prize.
