After Wednesday's loss to Oklahoma City, Morant mentioned that he has been dealing with a right shoulder issue all season. It has forced him to miss some time, including the two games before the Grizzlies played the Thunder. However, it won't keep him out of the lineup against Dallas on Friday. He played 32 minutes on Wednesday and should see a similar workload against the Mavs.
"I've played like this all season honestly, but is what it is."
Morant was listed as questionable for Wednesday's game with a right deltoid contusion
Morant returned to the Grizzlies lineup on Wednesday after a two-game absence due to what was described as a right deltoid contusion, and he did not shoot the ball well. Going 8-of-22 from the field overall, Morant missed his first five three-point attempts and finished 2-of-9. Following the game, he said he's "played like this all season" regarding the shoulder injury. That's concerning for the Grizzlies and fantasy managers, especially with the Grizzlies scheduled to play two back-to-backs over an eight-day stretch that begins on March 9. Scotty Pippen Jr. played 21 minutes off the bench Wednesday night, and while his fantasy ceiling is low with Morant on the court, he may be in position for more minutes with the Grizzlies star clearly at less than full strength.
With Ja Morant returning from a shoulder injury, Bane did not have the ball in his hands as often Wednesday night. His value took a hit, as he only recorded one assist while shooting 5-of-14 from the field. Bane has been a top 40 player in eight- and nine-cat formats since the All-Star break, so one subpar night will not crater his value. And games against the Mavericks (Friday) and Pelicans (Sunday) should help Bane rebound before the end of Week 18.
