It took some time, but fantasy managers finally see the Okongwu they've been clamoring for. He finished Saturday's overtime victory with his third double-double in as many games, and the four blocked shots matched his season-high. Over the past two weeks, the Hawks' backup center has provided top-50 value in 9-cat formats. With the trade deadline a little less than three weeks away, it will be interesting to see if Atlanta moves Clint Capela. If so, Okongwu's fantasy ceiling rises considerably.
After undergoing surgery to repair the broken fourth metacarpal in his right hand two weeks ago, Nance continues to progress in his recovery. He'll spend at least one more week on the sideline, leaving the Hawks with Clint Capela and Onyeka Okongwu as their available centers. Nance's absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball.
In addition to Jalen Johnson, the Hawks are without Trae Young and Zaccharie Risacher. Krejci will remain in the starting lineup, while Wallace and Roddy have replaced Young and Risacher. Given Atlanta's lack of options, Krejci is worth streaming, as is Garrison Mathews (despite coming off the bench).
Capela has been a double-double machine throughout his career, but that hasn't been the case this season. In their last 12 games, Capela has just two double-doubles. Since coming to Atlanta, he has had at least 35 double-doubles in each season, but he has just eight in 38 appearances this year. It's unlikely that he keeps that pace this season, though a drop in minutes can help explain that. They'll close out the week against the Rockets on Saturday, with a three-game week after that.
Okongwu will be good to go despite being given the questionable tag. He'll continue to split the minutes at center behind Clint Capela, though he hasn't been as impactful in fantasy basketball in comparison to the last few seasons.
