Capela has been solid in three of his four games since being pushed to the bench, and that continued in this game. This was his second double-double as a reserve, and this was one of his best rebounding games of the year. Capela still holds value in category leagues because his rebounding ability and sky-high field goal percentage, and his minutes haven't been that different from when he was starting. He shouldn't be considered a must-roster player, but with the Hawks playing on two of the lighter days this week (Tuesday and Thursday), he may have some limited appeal.
Capela is back after missing Thursday's loss to Toronto. He should slot in as Onyeka Okongwu's backup, but the Hawks will also have Larry Nance Jr. in the rotation. Fantasy managers should not drop Capela under any circumstance, but this is a situation to watch ahead of the February 6 trade deadline.
Nance will make his first appearance since December 28, giving the Hawks welcome depth off the bench. With Jalen Johnson (shoulder) out, Nance will have opportunities to provide value. However, with Onyeka Okongwu and Clint Capela also available, Nance isn't worth the risk in most leagues.
Capela is on track to return to the Hawks' rotation after sitting out Thursday's loss to the Raptors. Dominick Barlow stepped in as Onyeka Okongwu's backup, and he'll lose out on minutes if Capela and Larry Nance Jr. are cleared to play.
Capela isn't in the best shape after notching a double-double against the Pistons with 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench on Wednesday. Dominick Barlow will have a chance to back up Onyeka Okongwu at center.
