Dort did not shoot the ball well in Tuesday's NBA Cup final (which didn't count toward official stats), and that carried over into Thursday's win over the Magic. He rebounded well on Friday, shooting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc and finishing as one of four Thunder starters in double figures. Dort remains a top-100 player in 9-cat formats, and he's worth adding ahead of Oklahoma City's four-game Week 9 slate.
Dort is only rostered in 26% of Yahoo leagues, and the career track record likely has something to do with this. A notoriously poor perimeter shooter for most of his first four seasons in the NBA, the rugged Thunder wing has been much-improved over the last two. Dort shot 39.3% from deep last season, and his 5-of-9 effort on Saturday pushed his 2024-25 mark to a career-high 40.3%. As Dort continues on this path, more skeptics within fantasy basketball will board the bandwagon. Providing 7th-round value in 9-cat formats, he's worth the risk ahead of Oklahoma City's three-game Week 8 slate.
Ingram injured his ankle when he landed on Luguentz Dort's foot after attempting a jumper early in the third quarter. Not only did he require help getting to the locker room, but Ingram could not put any weight on his leg most of the way there. Trey Murphy replaced him in the lineup and will have added fantasy value if Ingram misses time.
There's just one change to the lineup that started Thursday's win over Toronto, with Wallace replacing Isaiah Joe. While Wallace, Joe, and Aaron Wiggins have all played credible rotation minutes, the former has been slightly more reliable regarding category league value.
