Injured on December 8, Jones is back ahead of schedule and will start against his former team. Amir Coffey, who started Monday's win over the Jazz, will head to the bench, where he offers minimal fantasy value. Feel free to leave him on the waiver wire, with there being 13 games on Thursday's schedule.
Coffey replaced Nicolas Batum in the starting lineup on Monday for defensive reasons. Clippers coach Tyronn Lue preferred Coffey to defend one of Utah's guards (Keyonte George or Collin Sexton), allowing James Harden to defend John Collins. The lineup change worked, as Harden came out scalding hot, with Coffey doing most of his offensive damage in the fourth quarter (3-of-3 FGs) after the outcome was no longer in doubt. We'll see who Lue starts on Thursday when the Clippers visit Dallas. However, Coffey and Batum (four points, three rebounds, two steals, and one 3-pointer in 16 minutes) offer limited value in matchups against more formidable opposition.
Dunn is good to go after the Clippers added him to the injury report late with an illness. The lone change to the starting lineup is Coffey, who will replace Nicolas Batum. The promotion gives Coffey a shot at providing streaming value, but that may be tough with Harden, Powell, and Zubac all active.
Coffey missed the Clippers' last game, which allowed Kevin Porter Jr. to start in his return to the lineup. With Coffey back to play against Denver, KPJ will likely be pushed out of the starting unit.
Coffey injured his shoulder in pregame warmups and will miss Sunday's game against Houston. Norman Powell was set to start against the Rockets anyway, but with Terance Mann (finger) out Coffey would've had a decent bench role.
