Neither Embiid nor George have played yet this season, and it's unclear when they will be available for their season debuts. They participated in portions of Tuesday's practice and will be re-evaluated later in the week. Kyle Lowry, Tyrese Maxey, Kelly Oubre, Caleb Martin and Andre Drummond have started in each of the Sixers' last two games, and that will likely remain the case until Embiid and George are back on the court.
After playing "starters' minutes" in the 76ers' season opener, Martin has replaced KJ Martin in the first five for the last two games. He was especially productive against the Pacers, recording a double-double in his 37 minutes on the floor. Martin did make the mistake of giving a foul when Philadelphia was up two late in overtime, but Tyrese Haliburton missed the first free throw (and intentionally missed the second). Unfortunately, the Week 2 schedule doesn't work in Martin's favor, as Philadelphia only plays twice.
76ers coach Nick Nurse has made two changes to his starting lineup from the quintet that began Wednesday's loss to Milwaukee. Lowry and Martin are in, with Eric Gordon and KJ Martin moving to the bench. Caleb, who was probable due to a right calf contusion, is a worthwhile streaming option for Philadelphia's final two games of the week with Paul George (knee) being sidelined.
Martin (calf) will start Friday against the Raptors, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports.
There goes Week 1 for fantasy managers who have George rostered. After sitting out Wednesday's loss to Milwaukee, he'll miss games in Toronto (Friday) and Indiana (Sunday) before being re-evaluated early next week. KJ Martin started against the Bucks but provided little value, with Caleb Martin logging 37 minutes off the bench. Managers looking for a deep-league streamer would be better served adding Caleb than KJ.
