Ball is averaging a career-best 25.2 points this season, and Tuesday's 25-point performance marked his 29th such game in 47 appearances. The Hornets face the Raptors on Friday before taking on the Pelicans on Sunday to close out the week. Both matchups are favorable for Ball, but it's unclear if he'll play in both contests, lest the Hornets risk winning too many more games.
As has been the case many times this season, Ball recorded a solid assist number but struggled with inefficiency. Five turnovers compounded the impact of Ball's poor shooting, and he's been responsible for four or more in four of his last six appearances. Over the past two weeks, he has been a top-50 player in eight-cat formats. While that isn't "bad" value, fantasy managers likely expect more from LaMelo. The Hornets play three games during Week 21, starting with the Magic on Tuesday.
Ball and Williams are off the injury report after sitting out Friday's loss to the Thunder. They'll occupy their usual places in the starting lineup, with KJ Simpson and Jusuf Nurkic heading to the bench.
Ball (rest) has been cleared to play in Sunday's game against the Heat.
Williams and Ball both played in Thursday's win over the Knicks, so it's no surprise that the pair will sit out the second leg of Charlotte's back-to-back set. Jusuf Nurkic should slide into the starting five in place of Williams, while Ball's vacated minutes will be picked up by some combination of Nick Smith Jr., DaQuan Jeffries and Seth Curry.
