Turner lands on the injury report, which is bad news for a team lacking depth at the center position. The recently acquired Thomas Bryant and Obi Toppin would be asked to contribute more if Turner cannot play against the Thunder, with Toppin being the far safer streaming option.
Indiana traded for Bryant ahead of the weekend and he could play in his first game as a Pacer on Sunday. It's unclear how much the big man will play, as Obi Toppin will likely remain ahead of him on the depth chart.
Toppin saw extended minutes Friday with Myles Turner both ineffective and in foul trouble. He made the most of his opportunity. Toppin had 20 points on 11 shots, pulled down eight rebounds, made two 3-pointers and had three steals. In his last five games, Toppin has had at least 15 points and at least seven rebounds three times. While he isn't a must-add for fantasy managers yet, there are some signs that he could be fantasy-viable for the rest of the season.
Toppin is off to a good start to December, scoring 13 points or more in all four outings. Rostered in 7% of Yahoo leagues, he's ranked just outside the top 50 during this stretch. He still isn't at the point where more fantasy managers must pick him up, but Toppin may be worth the risk for Sunday's game against the Hornets. As for his value for the rest of the season, the jury is still out.
