Mathurin continues to have big rebounding efforts. This was already his fourth game of the season with double-digit rebounds, including three games with double-digit rebounds in his last six games. Mathurin was also efficient scoring as he dropped 21 points on 10 shots. He got to the foul line a decent amount and knocked down all eight of his free throw attempts. He won't get a lot of assists, but the points and rebounds are going to be plentiful while the Pacers continue to be without Aaron Nesmith.
Mathurin is a good rebounder for a guard. In all seven games where he's played at least 30 minutes this season, he has at least six rebounds. In three of those games, he has double-digit rebounds. Aaron Nesmith's ankle injury allowed Mathurin to step into his spot in the starting lineup and his production has taken off with the additional playing time. He doesn't provide a lot of assists, but the rebounds and scoring production have been quite good.
Toppin is back after a one-game absence and will provide frontcourt depth off the bench. With a healthy Myles Turner in the lineup, Toppin's fantasy ceiling is limited despite the Pacers not having Aaron Nesmith.
The Pacers are already without two backup centers.
Coach Rick Carlisle said Sunday that Nesmith (ankle) will remain out until at least December, Tony East of SI.com reports.
