McDaniels has been playing better recently, and that continued in this game as he made an impact across the board in 9-cat leagues. Despite ranking outside the top-100 this season, McDaniels has provided fifth-round value over the last two weeks. A big reason for that has been his improvement in shooting efficiency and defensive production, both of which were on full display in this game. They still have two more games this week, with a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
The Timberwolves have made a change to their starting lineup. DiVincenzo is in, with Mike Conley headed to the bench. In addition to boosting DiVincenzo's fantasy value, Anthony Edwards will be the primary playmaker, possibly increasing his assist production.
McDaniels hasn't done much as a scorer this season, with his average (9.9) being nearly one point less than his mark from a season ago (10.5). Thursday's performance was one of McDaniels' best of the season, with the Timberwolves wing notching his second 20-point game. Unless he catches fire offensively, McDaniels is in a position where he's more valuable to his team than to fantasy managers.
