While the Kings remain below .500 record-wise, Monk has been huge for fantasy managers. Over the past three weeks, he has provided 3rd-round value in 8- and 9-cat formats. The move into the starting lineup gives him a better chance of sustaining that value, even with ball-dominant options De'Aaron Fox, DeMar DeRozan, and Domantas Sabonis on the floor.
LeBron James applauded DeMar DeRozan's consistency and availability ahead of Thursday night's Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Lakers game at Golden 1 Center.
The Kings are without Keegan Murray for Monday's game, which has opened up a spot in the starting lineup. McDermott will fill the void. While he doesn't offer much value defensively, there may be some catch-and-shoot situations from which "Dougie McBuckets" can benefit. That's the lone change to the Kings starting lineup.
DeRozan's production hasn't taken much of a hit in his first year in Sacramento, but this game was unique. He was able to make a big impact in categories that he has traditionally been weak in. He posted season-highs in both steals and 3-pointers in this game, though he still did plenty of work at the free throw line, which is more typical for him. DeRozan will continue to be a top-50 player in 9-cat leagues moving forward, but managers shouldn't get accustomed to him providing steals and 3-pointers at this rate.
Kings stars DeMar DeRozan and Malik Monk assessed Sacramento wanting revenge against the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday at Smoothie King Center.
