Clarke will join Zach Edey and Santi Aldama on the sidelines for this game, which means that there will be plenty of available minutes down low. Memphis will have to rely on some smaller lineups, though Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jay Huff should fill out the center minutes.
Aldama injured his ankle during the first half of Thursday's win over the Raptors and did not play in New Orleans the following night. Jay Huff played 13 minutes off the bench against the Pelicans and may be in line for a similar workload moving forward. While he's worth watching in deep leagues, Huff is not a must-add, with Jaren Jackson Jr., Zach Edey, and Brandon Clarke currently healthy.
Clarke is on the injury report after playing both games of Memphis' Thursday/Friday back-to-back against the Raptors and Pelicans. With Santi Aldama (ankle) considered week-to-week, the Grizzlies would be down two rotation frontcourt players if Clarke cannot play on Sunday. Jay Huff, who recently returned from an ankle injury, and Jake LaRavia may pick up additional minutes off the bench if Clarke sits.
The Grizzlies announced Saturday that Aldama has been diagnosed with a left ankle sprain and is considered week-to-week.
Smart will miss his third straight game while Aldama will miss his first game after logging just three minutes in his latest contest. Scottie Pippen Jr. and Jake LaRavia will have chances to step into larger roles ahead of the weekend.
