Since starring in his debut for Dallas, Jones has missed four games in a row and has been ruled out for a fifth-straight game. Kessler Edwards and Dwight Powell will continue to be the center options for Dallas.
Washington has missed the Mavs' last five games, but an upgrade to questionable is a step in the right direction. He will certainly return to the starting lineup when he is cleared to play, and if that happens on Wednesday, Kessler Edwards or Naji Marshall will likely be pushed to the bench.
Edwards has been a consistent starter for about a month, but this type of production is something that he hasn't ever done. He set a new career-high for both points and rebounds on Monday and recorded the second double-double of his career, with the other one coming during his rookie year back in 2021. Edwards has been a solid role player for multiple teams since being drafted in the second round, but that hasn't let to much fantasy production. However, he has provided top-50 value over the past week. It's a small sample size, but with how many injuries Dallas is dealing with, he is worth considering as a streamer.
With Brandon Williams (hamstring) sidelined for this game, Exum will make a return to the starting lineup. Spencer Dinwiddie will still play a significant role off the bench. Dinwiddie was seen as a priority addition after Kyrie Irving (knee) went down, but he has only started once since then.
Powell only played six minutes on Sunday, as a third-quarter collision with teammate Kessler Edwards ended his day. Powell received seven stitches to close a gash on his forehead and did not return. While Edwards suffered a cut over his left eye, he was able to return to Sunday's game during the fourth quarter. Dallas finished Sunday's loss with seven available players and may have similar issues for Monday's game against the Spurs, as Dante Exum and Caleb Martin are under minutes restrictions due to their recent injuries.
