Banton will shake off his questionable tag, but he's unlikely to see meaningful minutes while Portland's backcourt is mostly healthy.
Banton picked up additional playing time in Friday's win over the Nuggets, as the Trail Blazers were without Anfernee Simons. However, as Simons was available on Sunday, he only played nine minutes in a loss to the Celtics. Banton's potential absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball when the starting guards are available.
Banton hadn't scored in double figures in eight games in March entering play Friday. With Anfernee Simons (illness) out, the 25-year-old point guard figured to see more minutes off the bench. Banton ended up playing 29 minutes, more than Scoot Henderson, who moved into the starting lineup. Banton put up 19 points and impacted the game on the defensive end with three steals and three blocks. Unfortunately it's unlikely he sees enough minutes going forward to gain fantasy-relevance.
Simons was a late addition to the injury report, so it isn't surprising that he will be held out. Scoot Henderson should slide into the starting point guard role, with Dalano Banton taking on extra minutes off the bench.
Camara will miss this game after playing well on Sunday. That will leave a void in the starting unit, which could be filled by Scoot Henderson, Kris Murray or Dalano Banton. All three should see extra minutes regardless of who starts.
