Jackson and Turner are the changes from the quintet that started Monday's loss to the Raptors. Jackson replaces Jarace Walker, while Turner's return means Enrique Freeman heads to the bench. Turner is a fantasy mainstay, while Jackson is not worth the streaming risk in most leagues.
Sheppard has been filling in as a starter for the injured Andrew Nembhard, but left Sunday's game with an oblique strain. He missed Monday's game against the Raptors with Enrique Freeman getting the start. Sheppard doesn't have much fantasy value if he plays and Freeman doesn't have any value if Sheppard is out. It's a situation to avoid with a boost in usage for Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam and Bennedict Mathurin.
Mathurin has been on a scoring tear lately, which continued in this game. He has now scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven games and currently ranks in the top-100 in 9-cat leagues. He has been a strong rebounder this season, and while that didn't continue in this game, he was still able to grab a few. His 6.7 rebounds per game this season have been the biggest reason for his jump in 9-cat value, since he can provide more than just points. He'll look to stay hot in Houston on Wednesday.
With Myles Turner and Ben Sheppard both sidelined for this game, Walker and Freeman will both get the first starts of their careers. Indiana's rotation will be pretty different due to the number of injuries, and there should be plenty of minutes for both players.
Mathurin continues to have big rebounding efforts. This was already his fourth game of the season with double-digit rebounds, including three games with double-digit rebounds in his last six games. Mathurin was also efficient scoring as he dropped 21 points on 10 shots. He got to the foul line a decent amount and knocked down all eight of his free throw attempts. He won't get a lot of assists, but the points and rebounds are going to be plentiful while the Pacers continue to be without Aaron Nesmith.
