Paul played through his hurt thumb in the Spurs' latest win and appears to be willing to continue doing so. He's averaging 10.7 points and 8.5 assists per contest with excellent shooting splits and is back on the rise after an understandable drop in production during his time with the Warriors.
Paul is quietly having an excellent fantasy season as a top 50 fantasy player. The 39-year-old put up another double-double on Tuesday. His production level isn't in any danger of slowing down as long as he stays in the starting lineup. The Spurs will be back on the floor on Thursday against the Jazz.
Jones will be available for the first time since opening night, and rotation minutes will be available due to Devin Vassell sitting out the second game of the back-to-back. However, fantasy managers do not need to add Jones immediately; adding him to your watch list is good enough, especially with Chris Paul running the show.
Spurs guard Chris Paul on Friday joined John Stockton and Jason Kidd as the only players in NBA history to reach 12,000 career assists.
Saturday's game was Jones' first since opening night, so the limited workload is unsurprising. And his fantasy ceiling is pretty low due to the presence of Chris Paul. Fantasy managers are left hoping for a trade to derive proper value from Jones. There's no need to roster him right now.
