Suggs was injured during Thursday's loss to the Thunder. While he returned to action, it didn't take long for Magic coach Jamahl Mosley to remove his starting point guard from the game as he was uncomfortable playing on the injured leg. The good news is that Suggs is probable on the initial injury report, meaning he's on track to remain the team's starting point guard on Saturday. Anthony Black and Cole Anthony will absorb the available minutes if he cannot play.
Black set a new season-high with 21 points on a season-high 14 shots. Black is primarily known for his defense but will get opportunities to play a bigger role as a scorer because of Orlando's recent injuries.
Outside of Goga Bitadze, there aren't many solid streaming options in Orlando, with Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner sidelined. Maybe Black emerges as an option, based on his performance in Milwaukee. The second-year guard won't have value as a 3-point shooter, but he's generally efficient and provides solid defensive production. There's no need to add Black, as the Magic won't play again until December 15 or 16. But he's worth placing on watchlists.
With Paolo Banchero already sidelined with a torn oblique muscle, the Magic lost Franz Wagner to the same injury on Saturday. Da Silva moves into the starting lineup but remains a risky streaming play due to his lack of scoring. Also, Anthony Black, Cole Anthony, and even Jett Howard will have more opportunities to produce for the shorthanded Magic.
The team said that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks, but that doesn't mean that he'll be close to returning. This is a devastating injury for Orlando, who has already dealt with the absence of Paolo Banchero due to a torn oblique. Banchero isn't far from a return, but until he's back, they'll have to rely on everyone else to score. Tristan da Silva or Anthony Black may fill the void in the starting unit, but Cole Anthony could also see a larger role due to his shot creation ability.
