Coulibaly not doing much as a scorer isn't as concerning as the lack of defensive production. The second-year wing has averaged 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks per game over the past two weeks, with the decrease in defensive production being one reason he's only a top-250 player during this stretch. Coulibaly's season-long value is much better, so dynasty league managers should not be too concerned. However, they'd feel much better if Bilal could turn things around soon.
Friday's game was disappointing for the Wizards, who were competitive during the first half before getting run out of the United Center. But Coulibaly did make some history, becoming the fourth player in Wizards history to record at least 100 steals in his first 100 games with the franchise. Rostered in 43% of Yahoo leagues, he's providing 11th-round value in 9-cat formats for the season. That isn't great value, but Coulibaly's place within the rotation makes him worth rostering in some standard leagues.
The Wizards have made just one change to the lineup that started Tuesday's loss to the Rockets. With Alexandre Sarr (illness) out, Valanciunas will make his eighth start of the season and first since December 23. He's already rostered in most fantasy leagues, but managers who can find Valanciunas on their waiver wires should undoubtedly pick him up.
It appears like Washington might end up rolling out a skeleton crew on Wednesday. Corey Kispert, Bilal Coulibaly, and Jonas Valanciunas could be in for a major boost if Kuzma, Carrington, and Sarr are ruled out.
Coulibaly was back in the Wizards lineup after missing two games due to illness. The ability to play 30 minutes without issue is encouraging, but this was a forgettable night for Coulibaly and the Wizards. They'll look to bounce back Wednesday night in Philadelphia.
