Saints WR Mason Tipton is a healthy scratch for today s game vs. the Browns. He ran a route on 83% of Saints pass plays and totaled 14 targets over the past four weeks. New Orleans will roll with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Cedrick Wilson, Kevin Austin, and Dante Pettis today. What a group!
Wilson missed Week 10 with the shoulder injury. Marquez Valdes-Scantling led the Saints' wideouts in routes and caught three passes for 109 yards and two scores. If you were looking for a reason to keep MVS out of your lineup this week, Wilson's return potentially taking some routes off the table for Valdez-Scantling should suffice.
The down-horrific Saints are without four of their top five receivers for this game. Mason Tipton is the last man standing among that group. Tipton was targeted three times last week but failed to bring in a single one of them. The sickest of sickos can roll him out as a WR5 for fantasy purposes.
Olave seems highly unlikely to play this week, having suffered his fifth documented concussion in Week 9. The team has not yet placed him on injured reserve, nor even ruled him out for Week 10 though so his status is worth monitoring. Backup WR Cedrick Wilson was also not seen during the open portion of practice.
Wilson was forced to miss Week 8 with the hip injury. He missed Wednesday's practice this week but was back on the field for a pair of limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. Even if he's active, UDFA wideout Mason Tipton is in line to start opposite Chris Olave. Tipton has eight receptions over the past two weeks and is worth adding in extremely deep fantasy formats.
