Hill has missed time with a rib injury but will return to the depleted New Orleans lineup against LA. Hill could see an increased role as a pass catcher and possibly as a quarterback in the struggling New Orleans offense. Saints declared QB Derek Carr, WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR Cedrick Wilson Jr., LB Jaylan Ford, G Nick Saldiveri, TE Dallin Holker, and Khristian Boyd inactive against the Chargers.
With Chris Olave (concussion) out and Rashid Shaheed done for the year, fifth-round rookie Means rotated snaps and targets with fellow rookie Mason Tipton and journeyman Cedrick Wilson. Needless to say, it was not an ideal offensive environment. Means could be forced into plenty more work down the stretch, but he didn't show enough tonight to earn top-60 status for Week 8 against the Chargers even if Derek Carr is ready to return from injury.
Out multiple weeks Source: Saints WR Rashid Shaheed s meniscus surgery Thursday is now expected to determine whether he will be sidelined multiple weeks or for the rest of the season. (Adam Schefter on X) FF Today's Take: The Saints are set to be without Chris Olave (concussion) and Shaheed in Week 7 when the host the Broncos. Depending on how the procedure goes, Shaheed could miss the rest of the season. The Saints season is circling the drain as they have now sustained injuries to three of their top four players on offense including QB Derek Carr (oblique). Bub Means, Cedrick Wilson and Mason Tipton are expected to be the top three receivers for Saints on Thursday.
Saints WRs Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) did not practice on Tuesday. Olave has virtually no chance to clear protocol in time for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. We're still waiting for more information on Shaheed's knee injury, but he seems unlikely to play against Denver. Without their top two WRs, the Saints would be left with Bub Means, Mason Tipton, and Cedrick Wilson.
This is an estimated report. This is the surprise of the two wideout injuries for New Orleans, and it's a new listing after Shaheed was on the injury report with a hip last week. This could be management, it could be more serious. We simply don't have much information at the moment. The practice report on Tuesday will tell more of the tale. If Shaheed misses Thursday night's game against the Broncos, we could be in for a lot of Bub Means and Cedrick Wilson.
