It'll go down as the third consecutive missed game for the team's alpha wide receiver as Pickens continues to tend to an injured hamstring. Justin Fields joins him as inactive, meaning Kyle Allen is expected to serve as the top backup behind Russell Wilson. Also inactive for the Steelers are S Deshon Elliott, CB Donte Jackson, and DT Larry Ogunjobi.
It's a new listing. Fields did take a fairly decent hit against the Eagles in his one snap, one carry performance. Kyle Allen is the Steelers third quarterback should Fields miss Week 16's game against the Ravens.
Pickens will miss his second-straight game with a Grade 2 hamstring injury he suffered in practice a little over a week ago. The Steelers will once again be working with Scotty Miller, Van Jefferson, and Calvin Austin as their top three receivers, which could also make for a busy day for Pat Freiermuth against a stout Eagles defense.
The Steelers were hopeful Pickens would be able to go in Sunday's game against the Browns, but after testing his hamstring injury pre-game, the team has opted to sit their star receiver. Pickens' absence should spell a bigger day for tight end Pat Friermuth, and could also pave the way for Mike Williams to see his busiest day as his member of the Black and Yellow. In addition to Pickens, the Steelers also declared QB Kyle Allen, CB Cory Trice, OG Max Scharping, and DE Dean Lowry inactive for Week 14.
Highsmith will miss another week with an ankle injury. The Steelers are undefeated in games where he plays this season, but just 2-3 when he does not. Obviously, this is a slight boost for the Bengals offense.
