Fields injured his hamstring this week and will be held out for Monday Night Football in Week 8 as the Steelers take on the Giants. He reportedly showed enough in pre-game warmups to serve as the team's emergency quarterback behind starter Russell Wilson and backup Kyle Allen. Also inactive for the Steelers are CB C.J. Henderson, LB Nick Herbig, C Zach Frazier, and RB Cordarrelle Patterson.
This would be more newsworthy if Fields were starting in Week 8. His pre-game tests are more or less to determine whether he will serve as the backup to starter Russell Wilson or if Kyle Allen will serve as the Steelers' QB2 on the night. Whether he's active or not should bear no weight on fantasy managers starting Wilson in 2QB/SuperFlex leagues.
