Seahawks TE Noah Fant (groin) is listed as questionable for this weekend s game vs. the Cardinals. He was a full-go in Friday s practice, though, so he should play. Fant ranks just 28th among TEs in PPR points per game and isn t a recommended fantasy start against Arizona s 12th-ranked TE defense.
Fant went down with the groin injury in Week 8. He was back at practice on Thursday, but that still gives him a short week to return from a lengthy injury. He appears to be a true game-time call for Week 12. Even if active, fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a tight end streamer this week. Laviska Shenault is the only other Seahawk with a designation this week.
They are Fant's first practice reps of the month of November after he got hurt in Week 8. Encouraging, though a "limited" tag after that lengthy layoff -- including a Wednesday DNP -- hardly guarantees the seam stretcher will be back against the 49ers. We would probably consider Week 13 more likely. Even if Fant does suit up, he is no longer in the top 20 mix at tight end.
Barner was never a serious streaming option against the 49ers' linebacker corps. The backup tight end dropped his first target and got washed out of a critical would-be block on a failed fourth-down conversion attempt late in the game. He is a TE2/3 against the Cardinals next week if Noah Fant (groin) remains inactive.
Fant's absence gives AJ Barner the start, however, No. 4 wide receiver Jake Bobo will likely earn targets more efficiently than Barner. Joining Fant on the inactives list are TE Brady Russell, OLB Trevis Gipson, G Sataoa Laumea, CB Nehemiah Pritchett, WR Dareke Young and DE Myles Adams.
