In his first game since Week 12, Chargers RB J.K. Dobbins posted 76 yards and 1 TD on 19 attempts. With Gus Edwards sidelined, Dobbins led the team in snaps (42) and routes (17).
J.K. Dobbins' helped the Chargers surpass 100 yards rushing and a more balanced offense rolled over the New England Patriots, 40-7, to clinch a playoff spot.
Dobbins returned to lead-back duties after a four-game absence due to a knee injury. He got 19 of 32 running back carries, scoring at the beginning of the fourth quarter and not returning to the game later with the Chargers leading big. It wasn't Dobbins' most efficient game with 4.0 yards per carry, but he got the job done in what has been a rejuvenating year back in a Greg Roman offense. Dobbins is a candidate for comeback player of the year and ranks as an RB2 for Week 18 against the Raiders.
Haskins was the second running back into the game and handled the second-most running back touches behind J.K. Dobbins. With nine total touches for 40 yards, he worked ahead of Kimani Vidal, who rushed five times for 24 yards and did not catch either of his targets. Neither Vidal or Haskins maintain fantasy relevancy as long as Dobbins is active and the backfield would morph into a committee if Dobbins and Gus Edwards were to both miss a game. Keep Haskins and Vidal on benches for Week 18.
