One of Pittman's missed connections was an awful drop. It was a literal perfect Anthony Richardson pass, something you probably shouldn't let go to waste as a wideout. On the plus side of the ledger, Richardson looked more competent than he did pre-benching, even if he continued to struggle mightily with his short-area accuracy. Although Pittman has been clearly surpassed by Josh Downs for No. 1 receiver status, today offered hope he could maybe maintain WR4 appeal in PPR leagues. That will still be a stretch for a brutal Week 12 matchup with the Lions.
Making his first start since Week 8, Richardson posted a new career high for passing by 39. The two-touchdown day on the ground was also "just" the second of his career. He also conducted a picture perfect two-minute drill that led to what proved to be the game-winning touchdown. Richardson still had several mind-numbing misses -- the shorter the pass is, the less accurate Richardson becomes -- but he was in greater rhythm in the intermediate areas than we are used to seeing. He found three different pass catchers for at least three grabs, including Josh Downs and Michael Pittman for five a piece. A normal day at the office for a lot of quarterbacks, but genuine progress for Richardson. He was also a complete menace with the ball in his hands, looking scarily difficult to tackle on his two- and four-yard touchdown runs. This was much more like the quarterback the Colts wanted to see before they benched Richardson for Joe Flacco. That won't be happening again any time soon, it appears. That being said, the Lions are a significantly more difficult matchup for Week 12, albeit at home.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back) put in a full week of practice and isn t listed on the final injury report for Sunday s game vs. the Jets. With QB Anthony Richardson back under center, though, Pittman is no better than a WR4. He s finished outside the top 50 WRs in PPR points in four of five games with Richardson this season.
Pittman missed last week's game due to back and finger injuries, but the finger injury, which he suffered in Week 9, seems to be behind him. The Colts' WR1 has been playing through the same back injury through the last several weeks and will continue to do so as long as he can. With that said, he'll be hard to trust as anything more than a boom-or-bust WR2 against the Jets with Anthony Richardson back under center.
