Wright drew the start with Sam LaPorta sidelined but didn't have a stat to his name entering halftime. He broke free of his defender on a goal line throw from Jared Goff late in the third quarter for his only catch of the day. The touchdown saved a disastrous spot-start for fantasy managers who looked to him as a TE2. Said managers should take their winning and call it a day before finding a better streaming option for Week 12.
Lions TE Sam LaPorta is "truly questionable" for next week's game vs. the Colts, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. LaPorta's shoulder injury reportedly isn't serious, but it sounds like it might end up costing him a couple of games. TEs Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra are expected to pick up LaPorta's snaps vs. the Jaguars today.
The Lions allowed LaPorta to rest throughout the week, opting not to rush him back for a game in which they are currently favored by 14.0 points. Whether LaPorta could have played through the pain remains unknown but for now, fantasy managers should be heartened by the conservative approach. Brock Wright becomes a touchdown-dependent streaming option in LaPorta's stead.
Lions TE Sam LaPorta (shoulder) missed practice all week and is out for Sunday s game vs. the Jaguars. His injury reportedly isn t serious, so we ll see if he can make it back for Week 12. Brock Wright and Shane Zylstra will handle TE duties for Detroit this weekend. Neither is a reliable fantasy play.
Per head coach Dan Campbell, LaPorta remains day to day with the sprained AC joint he suffered in Week 10 against the Texans. LaPorta left the game in the second half and did not return. The second-year tight end does appear to be at risk of missing Week 11, though he is luckily not dealing with a long-term issue. Brock Wright would draw the start if LaPorta can't suit up. He would be a touchdown-or-bust TE2 versus the Jags.
